In High School, Fr Haman worked as a lifeguard at the city pool and in the kitchen at the local nursing home. His extracurricular activities were mostly academic except for track, in which he was modestly successful.
During college, Fr Haman studied Landscape Architecture and interned during the summers with NDDOT designing landscape projects along highways, including in LaMoure when HWY 13 was reconstructed. It was during college that he began considering the priesthood. Joining Bible Studies at the Newman Center was instrumental in that, helping him take ownership of the Catholic faith for the first time and to encounter Christ through the faith. This new desire to be close to Christ, specifically in the sacraments, led him to begin a journey to the priesthood. He was ordained a priest for the Fargo diocese in 2012, and is currently serving as pastor here in Wahpeton!
